This visa lets nominated skilled workers live and work in Australia as permanent residents.

What is State Nomination Visa 190

The applicant must have been invited by a state government, in writing, to apply for the visa.

To apply for the state nomination is mandatory:

PERMANENT SKILLED VISA – ACT NOMINATION

PERMANENT SKILLED VISA – SA

PERMANENT SKILLED VISA – Queensland

PERMANENT SKILLED VISA – Tasmanian

PERMANENT SKILLED VISA – Western Australia

Visa 190 – Point test Stream

Most of the requirements related to an applicant’s indicative points score at the time of invitation require the applicant to have demonstrated that these requirements were met at time of invitation, even if this evidence is provided after the visa application is made.

Visa 190 – EOI

(Up until the time of invitation, persons who submit an EOI can update the EoI for any changes in circumstance or in points tested factors.)

Skills assessments

The relevant assessing authority must have assessed the applicant’s skills as suitable for the applicant’s nominated skilled occupation.

Skills assessments that do not specify an expiry date are valid for 3 years from the date of the assessment.

At least competent English

Applicants are required to demonstrate that they had competent English at the date they were invited to apply for the SN-190 visa.

The validity of a language test

The language test used to demonstrate that the applicant meets the English language threshold for an SN-190 visa must have been undertaken within the 3 year period immediately before the date of the invitation to apply.

Health, character requirements

The applicant and all family members should meet the health and character, otherwise it is under “One fails, all fail” criteria

Family members

Family members (secondary applicants) must apply with the primary applicant. They cannot apply separately for this visa or, except as indicated immediately below, later than the primary applicant.

Payment of 2nd instalment VAC

As it is a permanent visa, all adult applicants require a functional english, otherwise, must pay the second instalment of the VAC before their visa can be granted.

The second instalment charge for family members is AUD4,885.
