Bridging Visas

If you are aged parents, you can apply from in Australia, you will be granted a Bridging Visa A (BVA). The BVA enables you to remain lawfully in Australia.

However, if the parent visa that you can apply from in and outside Australia, there is no Bridging Visa. Thus you should have your tourist visa 600 or another family-sponsored visa to remain in Australia lawfully while you are waiting for the process.
